The Obi-Wan Kenobi series from the Star Wars universe has ended and is now fully available to watch on Disney Plus. Obi-Wan Kenobi has had 6 episodes, with a duration of 30-55 min per episode while the sixth and last has had movie vibes with a duration of 43 minutes that was released on June 22, 2022. In fact, at first it was going to be a movie, but due to the pandemic it was changed to a series format for Disney Plus.

The story takes place between the events of the third film of the prequels "Revenge of the Sith" and the first film in the original Star Wars saga "A New Hope."

During the series we have seen how Obi-Wan Kenobi had exiled himself and moved away from his Jedi past in order to hide from the empire and protect Anakin Skywalker's son, Luke Skywalker on Tatooine. In this period, a senator, friend of the republic and adoptive father of Leia Organa, contacts Obi-Wan to ask for his help in finding his kidnapped daughter. Obi-Wan finally agrees to help Anakin's second daughter and thus prevent them from discovering that Leia Organa is actually Leia Skywalker and therefore the daughter of Darth Vader.

During this mission on which the series unfolds, we see Obi-Wan Kenobi very weak in the ways of the force and a very powerful Darth Vader (Anakin) leading the empire. He commands the Inquisitors, a team of Sith warriors whose main characters are the Grand Inquisitor and Reva, a Sith who wants to find Obi-Wan by any means possible.

Obi-Wan has discovered that Anakin is alive and is now Darth Vader and we have seen their first encounter since their final fight on Mustafar where Obi-Wan left Anakin for dead.

The series has had many critics, against the story and against the treatment of Obi-Wan's character but also against some new characters, mostly the new sith Reva. Star Wars fans can be very critical with the actors and the fidelity to the original saga. However, the show has saved the best for last, episode 5 was the best so far and the fans generally liked it.

It brought back nostalgic scenes from the prequels with actors Hayden Christensen and Ewan McGregor deaged and dressed as in Attack of the Clones movie, as well as new scenes of Darth Vader showing off his incredible power. Reva's secret is also revealed, she was a Youngling (Jedi apprentice girl) when Anakin entered the Jedi council to finish them off after Order 66 and all she really wants is revenge and to kill Vader.

In the sixth and final chapter of the series, fans have seen an epic and emotional final lightsaber battle between Obi-Wan and Darth Vader in the way they were done in the prequels, as well as the great cameo of Liam Neeson as Qui-Gon Jinn, Obi-Wan's master who died during the first film of the prequels "The Phantom Menace". The end of the Obi-Wan Kenobi series has excited Star Wars fans despite the doubts with the rest of the chapters.
