  I've just read it, you're right. Interestingly, ever since I learned German (8 years ago) I've lost ability to fluently speak or write English, I mean I really have to concentrate first 20 minutes and then it goes. Even though I watch almost daily series and documentaries only on English without subtitles past 25 years, I'm still struggling a little bit :D

Idolizing certain people, constant fear of the police, you don't know who your real friends are and who are the snitches, always taught that less is more, no money for nothing if you're not a part of the regime and so on.
