Some basic math tells us that if you multiply those numbers to get the total amount of wealth that these billionaires have (5% of total is 1/20, so $4 trillion times 20 is total) you get $80 trillion dollars. The total wealth of all billionaires in the US is only about $8 trillion.

This is what I get for going to a contemporary Protestant...

Maybe it is different in larger churches in big cities, but I (as a 35 year old single man) find that the only new women of an appropriate age that ever start attending church are either single mothers or unattractive (and almost always both).

  It's baffling

Ok, we can solve this problem. New law: whoever initiates a no fault divorce gets nothing. You can leave, but you don't get anything that you didn't have at the start of the marriage. That would solve the problem of women marrying someone for a short time and then leaving with half of their stuff. Marriage is a forever contract. Breaking it for no reason other than "I don't want to be with you anymore" should have consequences you have to consider before proceeding.

I just remember being upset that it was all that was on television for a while. Not that public television was great, but the few channels that played kids' shows was all we had, and I hated that they were interrupting my day with stuff that 10 year old me didn't care about.

Six packs require either extreme dedication or a specific genetic disposition (or both). Josh Firestine said that he once managed to get up to four pack abs, and all that was required was for him to be on a combat deployment for the US military in the middle east. Most people who get a six pack only maintain it for a short time given that maintaining it is difficult even once you have it.

People often don't realize just how overpowered high speed characters can be. Provided that an opponent isn't indestructible, a character that can move fast than the eye can see can kill anyone as they cannot be defended against. A knife to the eye, a splash of poison in an open mouth, or simply accelerating a heavy object to an absurd velocity and aiming it at an opponent's head would finishing basically every fight in one move.

Not easier; cheaper. If Amazon owns something, they can take what would be profits from one sector of their business and move it to another part of the business that operates at a loss, allowing them to say that they didn't make profits and thereby avoid paying taxes on that money.

Not that this can't happen, but it can't happen without the supervisor finding out about it. Our speed is tracked, whether the vehicle is in forward or reverse is tracked, whether the vehicle is on or off is tracked, and the location and time that the stop is recorded as complete is tracked. We are prohibited from completing stops while the engine is running, so no driver can do this and not be caught by the supervisor.

I am not one to defend all vaccines, but the data could theoretically be skewed if the unvaccinated children who would have been diagnosed with allergies or ADHD or so on died from diseases that the vaccines are supposed to prevent and only the strong survived. I would need to see the part of the data dealing with how many (if any) unvaccinated children in his practice didn't survive long enough to be in the later sample.

Twice, like 6 months apart, I asked a friend who thinks that Trump is a fascist what fascism is. I don't believe they could build a washer/dryer that could last that long while being in a reasonable amount of use. The friction would still wear down the components. The more moving parts that something has, the faster friction will cause something to fail. I do think we could build one that could function 100 years later if it was designed so any bearings could be regularly greased to limit friction, but some kind of regular maintenance would be required for it to still function.

Transport of materials to build the facilities required would be a nightmare as it would practically all have to be done by boat. Those facilities would not be just a data center but also a massive power generation facility as well as dormitories for the employees to live in, all of which would have to be resistant to the extreme conditions.

I posted this on another one of these this morning. This isn't accurate. Short version: You do need to log in to the internet with the console once after 14 days (refund period) past the purchase date to be updated from a temporary license to a permenant license. This is done to prevent an exploit allowing people to copy a license and then refund the game. After that one time logging in to switch to the permanent license, you can now play the game offline forever.

I am rapidly falling out of love with the game

Jailbreaking was supposedly the reason for this patch. You do actually still own the game. You just have to log in once after 14 days past the purchase (refund period) to switch your temporary license for your permanent one. Then you never have to log in again.

PART 2: where you could purchase a game on a jailbroken console, extract the license, and then refund the game. You could then put the license back and have the game that you refunded free forever.

PART 1: This isn't entirely accurate. This is in effect, but only for the first two weeks after you purchase a game digitally. You now get a 30 day temporary license when you purchase a game. After 14 days (the refund period) you lose your temporary license and gain a permanent one, which will work offline forever. You only have to sign in to the internet one time after that 14 days to get the license on the console to update. This was supposedly introduced to counter an exploit on the PS4...
